The Telephone Interview

The telephone interview has become one of the most popular first round interviews for college students
and new grads. If you are a college student looking for an internship, it may be the only interview you have and if you are a new grad, it will often be the first interview you have with a company.

I have decided to blog about the telephone interview today because I just coached 2 college students in the interview process. Both are juniors and were looking for an internship for this summer. We worked hard together and my telephone interview coaching was key in their success just as much as the overall coaching program. Both received several offers and one student had 6 telephone interviews in 1 week with 4 of them in one day. Both got the offers they wanted.

For a thorough coaching on the telephone interview and my comprehensive interview strategy and method you can order my book at http://jobinterviewskills101.com/ or click the picture of the book in the header of this page. Reading this book is equivalent to getting 10 hours of coaching with me for a small investment. But here is something to read while you are waiting for the book to arrive.

I was recently asked by Monster.com to offer some tips on acing telephone interview and I want to share the link http://www.monsterworking.com/2012/04/09/12-tips-for-phone-interviews/

This article is just a small sample of what is in the book, but very helpful!

I’m really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one nowadays.
