It’s not just who you know, but who knows you.

In a tough economy, or any economy for that matter, the majority of job seekers land their dream positions by leveraging their networks. As a recruiter, I always look at referrals first and then responses to my job board ads. Often, I never needed to post a job on the job boards because I had great referrals. What they say is true…many of the jobs never reach the job boards because they are filled through referrals.

If you’re like many of my clients, you may be thinking that you don’t really have much of a network. But you will soon learn that you don’t realize the network you do have. I help students and recent grads compile and build a viable network of contacts from many sources. Most of my students know more people than they think, and don’t even realize how many others have heard of them.

Having and using a network are two different things.

A list of names won’t land you a job. In this program you’ll learn how to capitalize on your network and create valuable relationships. You’ll learn how to contact them, what to say and what to ask. With confidence and creativity, your leads could lead you to greatness.
